Motorized v. non-motorized complication... was created by ryanjv1
Now here's an interesting take on how to get to your favorite powder stash. I'm not going to give my opinion, and will instead just sit back and watch the fun. At $2400, I think rampant use is farfetched currently, but the costs will come down eventually...

Looks like a trencher to me. Flat ground only on packed snow. And what to do with it when you get to the top? Drop a nice line with it? Buy a real snow machine for that price anyway...Might work OK for road access only.

I've seen some nice videos of this device in use. Can't remember where, but they should be easy to find on-line. The thing seemed surprisingly versatile, although of course you didn't get to see the out-takes. Plus, unlike Toby's snow machine, you can carry it in the back of your Suburu Outback.
I'm not in the market.

Seems like a toy without much practical use. Here is the youtube video I found, and they also have one from 3 years ago with a prototype.

it'd be fun for getting around when seattle shuts down in the snow.
