Haven't read it yet, but your comment means a lot to me, Joe. It's the sort of info I was hoping to encapsulate from the Etiquette thread, but which turned into a cluster.. I realize that etiquette and safe traveling are not necessarily the same thing, but the notions overlap enough, and each important enough to warrant first order consideration on everyones' list

Having read through it, I didn't come to that conclusion. The slide path was appears to be a mere 100 wide and 2 of the 3 skiers were entrained by the slide- sheer luck and the 2 caught skiers ability to fight and self arrest above hazarous terrain prevented it from becoming a big mess.

I agree w/ Mofro -- the point of spacing (or 'one at a time') is to travel in such a way that at most one skier is caught.
