Alpental Beacon Park

It would be nice to have the "slide path" more clearly defined, or at least a description at the base-station. It took me a while to head uphill far enough to begin picking up a signal.

Good reminder Otter. We will install the sticks of bamboo with orange flagging that define the corners of the search field. Hopefully we will soon have an information board and a small cover to protect the base unit. There have been a few issues with the buttons freezing due to the rain followed by cold temps.

A couple of updates- the Off/Reset button is giving us troubles, so the pressure is on to complete your search. We will get it working. On another note- we are doing these Pettigrew Foundation Companion Rescue Workshops at the Beacon Park- so it is reserved on Saturdays from 0900-1200.

We tried to use it today 1/25/11 and could not get it to work. Maybe its been too long since the sun has shined on the solar panels?

An NSP level I course I'm helping teach will be using the beacon park on Saturday. I'll try to post an update Saturday evening regarding the status of the park.
