Switzerland early season - where? was created by haggis
Got a work trip to France and will take the w/e after to visit the Alps. Will be flying from Basel, Switzerland. Any suggestions where to take a couple days early season there, ie: 4/5 Dec?
Somewhere high with big mountain views and not too far from Basel. Just resort, not bothering with touring over there as its too much hassle to organise.
Thanks to all the worldly travellers here!

So I ended up staying in Verbier. Charming place, amazing terrain and outlandish pricing structure. Beyond outlandish, some near comical. Remedied that by staying in a new backpacker place, 1st paying customer in actual fact. It is run by 2 randonee skiers but I didn't let that affect my decision to stay there.
www.mapverbier.ch/ and the place is fantastic in case anyone is interested. Warm, spotless, walk to the village, super views from the rooms and has kitchen etc for use.
Fantastic day on Saturday, about 8" new snow over a low base but they don't need much in the alps to get going. Rented a paraglider for the afternoon and took a couple flights for a different perspective. Amazing views!

Using a paraglider to scope out the secret stashes - now that's a great startegy.
Great photos.
