BYW- On an interesting side note. China put an embargo on the export of their best bamboo in 1978 at the height of the US XC craze. Mine are pre-embargo. The good stuff. HUUAHAHA!!

My wife has a pair of bamboo poles she picked up at a yard sale or goodwill years ago. They are light and strong and for 5 or 10 bucks she paid they are great for XC. But $150 for some leather baskets and a bamboo stick?

I think this is the new trend.... we've gone through the fat skis, rocker period and now it's swinging back to "handcrafted old school".

I may go to the coast this weekend and club a few baby seals to death and make some "real" skins and sell them on the interwebz.
