Looking good for an early opening! It appears the storm has been pummeling Mt Hood. Timberline looks to have 36 odd inches on terra firma, and Meadows 32...and dumping.

Ya'll must remember about 2004, when Baker's opening day was about Nov 5. The lift ticket said 82" or so,, but there was 93" of unconsolidated fresh up top......

I skiied that day, and the next, which was the third day of Crystal's season....even hit up Silver Basin as I recall...there was a couple feet of light stuff over rock...I remember smearing a turn off my hip on  a south facing chute off the Throne, after giving up first tracks to that slow-poke Scott Kingland...

That was the earliest opening since circa 1975-77 or so, when Crystal opened about October 31....may have been the same year that Chinook, and prolly Cayuse closed a few days earlier after an 18" dump.

Look out, you cretins, my knees are fixed, I have a full pass to XTal and 'tal.....and plan on ripping the hills to pieces....

well, final call..  end of biz, tomorrow, the 2nd, for pickin or revisin.

Stoke's been great for the last month or so and todays 10k snow level will be back to 4 by weeks end ~ can't be much longer, right?

We'll be junk boarding later this week enroute to Cambridge, Id.   Haven't picked out which skis to trash, but the T1s and body armor will be at the hill.   Check out the east side slopes just west of Benton City sometime -  fresh grass on firm with just the occasional boulder...
