From today's paper:

Rules of relativity come down to Earth

Using super accurate clocks, physicists have measured time dilation at speeds as slow as 20mph and elevation changes as little as one foot. The original paper in the journal Science can be found here (free registration required):

Oops, on re-reading the story I see that higher elevations make you age faster, not slower. So perhaps the effects of elevation and speed cancel each other out. It guess this argues for skiing at Snoqualmie Pass instead of Crystal Mountain. Or maybe taking up water skiing...    ;)

Correct - though you only age faster relative to people at lower elevation. High elevation seconds are just as good (and I'd argue significantly more worthwhile!) as low elevation ones.

Enhanced sunburn and extra cosmic ray flux will make you age up high, but anecdotal evidence suggests that the effects of exercise and the joy of being in the mountains triumph and keep old mountaineers young in body and mind.
