HELP: Lost ski in SW Chutes was created by andyski
My buddy watched in horror as his 175 K2 Coomback (red, white and blue) with Dynafit ST (leash, no brake) rocketed down the southernmost contiguous SW Chute yesterday. I was too far ahead traversing back toward S. Climb due to visibility concerns to see it happen, and we then got separated for a while, so I wasn't able to just ski the route and get it.

Anyone who did or can grab it will be rewarded with the finest beers and whatever else, added onto by me. The thought of doing that drive again from Seattle is not pleasant. The ski's owner lives in Seattle and might tack onto this thread. Thanks!

Fingers very crossed! As much as I loved the beer at Full Sail and the corn on Adams, I hate that drive.

As the owner of the lost ski, I did indeed watch in horror as it picked up a ton of speed and blasted through the corn without me. I did not see it come to a stop, so my assumption is that it reached the bottom of the chutes. I'm in Ballard and would be extremely grateful to anyone who is able to spot it or get ahold of it.

As stated, its a 174 K2 Coomback, Dynafit ST and short BD cable leash... sadly, no brakes. Many thanks!

That f***in' thing just missed me! Pre-release? Dropped it?

No kidding? Sorry about that! I had actually just taken them off to boot over some rocks and traverse towards South Climb when I went into a slide myself. Wasn't able to stop and hang onto both skis so had to let the damn thing go. My buddy had already cleared the rocks and was out of shouting distance due to wind, so I didn't want to risk climbing down for it and being separated further. Apologies for the near miss.
