TAY-like site for western WA road bicycling? was created by dkoelle
Greetings
I have been re-visiting an old love and getting into more road biking. I particularly like those roads that visit our beautiful mountains of course and don't mind a little gravel; last weekend I went Granite Falls to the Vesper trailhead and Barlow Pass and back; it was a great trip. I don't have the bike for hard-core mountain biking, but I have a tough steel frame road bike and don't mind a little rough stuff in exchance for peace and low traffic.
My query here is, are there any message boards or "trip report" like web sites that people might know about where the local bicycle crowd gossips and recommends?
Thanks

Howdy,
Here are a couple of sites you might like. They both have regional specific forums.
Road: forums.roadbikereview.com/
Mountain: forums.mtbr.com/
Enjoy!

Bikeforums.net has a PNW regional forum that is pretty active. The general tone of the posting is much more cc.com circa 2005 than TAY, but there are plenty of good folks posting. It is worth a look.

Stereotypically, Cascade is an older, more uptight crowd who'll scold you for not wearing a helmet or for disobeying traffic laws ... and Point83 is a younger crowd who ride fixed gear bikes and like to drink a lot and cause trouble.
But in reality, both of the above have a very diverse array of types of people in them.
