Sierra's conditions

well, it was quite a run - or ski, if you will. the low pressures were comin' our way almost till the end of May! (typically ending mid-April). needless to say, we have now gone right into summer conditions. the nights are not freezing and the snow has consolidated quite nicely. it's just a matter of time that you'll have to find a northerly aspect to get some turns. the cups are around 4 inches, and if you have a steep slope, the turns are good.
my "middle school" bro was at the top of Mammoth Mtn gettin some late season "kiting" today. it is always a pleasure to see him ridin' the prevailing winds on the backside of Mammoth. some day I would like to give it a go - it is definitely a whole different way of sliding on snow! check out the website, sierrakiters.com
