Nice consolidation at Mission Ridge yesterday. The slope right under the Microwave tower on Wenatchee Peak had a bit of mush on top of the firm base (a few inches of new snow from the week before last that was between corn and mush; the sort of snow where if you kick off a chunk, it quickly fragments to nothing in a hiss), but our line quickly had us on great turning snow for the rest of the way down. But up near the ridge, in the woods in a spot where folks hadn't been skiing all winter, I was able to plunge my pole in much deeper than I was anywhere out in the open.
