Where's Silas? was created by Jim Oker
He must be on a traverse, not near an internet cafe, or just having way too much fun trying to find good good after great tours to bother stopping at one. As fun as it is to see all the good powder action I've missed locally due to the damn job, I'm even more eager to see what I'm missing across the pond right now...

I too am wondering where he is? He may be roaming the Alps in Alfreds van and having too much fun to find the time or a place to post. I am sure he will have many TR's to share when he returns home. Looking forward to it!

Wish it were true kids!  Unfortunately Mr. Euroflu grabbed me again on May 2, I spent a week in bed in Aosta.  Didn't miss too much, it rained steady for five days, coming from the west, so no avoiding it north or south.  Rob and Tom skinned Cervinia area on May 3, then Rob bailed to the coast and had a beautiful room with a view in Finale Liguria.  He came back to check on me, and headed over to Cham, where he had a pretty good day on the Grand Montets.  I changed my schedule to fly home same day as him, May 8, knowing that I could not even lift my ski bag, so solo train travel to visit Austrian and German friends would be tough.  Have spent this week in bed at home, watching the beautiful weather and Amar's daily activities at Rainier.   Hope to be ready for some corn turns next week (just when the rainfest begins again?)

Oh yeah, need to find a car too, mine died last month just west of Snoqualmie Pass.

So this year's Euroski yielded eight good weather days, with fair ski conditions, and lots of looks at areas with awesome potential for future visits, including Disentis where the lifts had already closed, limiting access to Oberalpstock, one of our goals.   The Greek financial crisis somehow pushed up the dollar/euro exchange rate too, and we had an awesome four hour Sunday lunch near Aosta, photos to come (fortunately no photos of the return of the lunch ten hours after it was consumed, Mr. Flu's revenge.)

www.laclusaz.it country dining for 35-50euros ($45-70US) Rover's and the Herbfarm wish they could compare.

Chamonix-Zermatt Haute Route weather and conditions sounded excellent April 10-30.

Silas, sorry to hear all that, but I'm sure you'll back to your usual "retirement" schedule soon!
Oh, and what finally did in that ancient ski car?

Oh, man, can I get on your dance card Silas? I might be able to keep up with you on the up-hill while you're still recuperating.

Bummer - I guess we all draw a bad card now and then.

That car served you well.
