Subaru shop of choice? was created by Charlie Hagedorn
I'm looking for a used Subaru. I've found a couple of fine choices, but each of them may require some repair work. Suburb Service has been recommended to me, and I'm using them to check the vehicles before purchase. I've been impressed with their knowledge, but their labor fees strike this ex-Applachian as mighty expensive. Can anyone recommend other competent subie shops in Seattle?

There's a shop on the SW corner of 99 and 80th that did good work on an ex-girlfriend's Subaru, many moons ago.

Also, Doctor Don's -- they don't specialize in Subarus (we take our Chevy van there), but they're an awesome shop. Honest, thorough, good cost-to-value.

Two thumbs up for Dave DeAngelo. He does a lot of work on subies and is a great, very reasonable mechanic. He's always taken the time to explain the options to me, and I know several people that are now going to him and all have had a good experience.

I used Suburb Services a couple of times. Their prices seem to be about the same as a dealership. If I am going to pay dealership prices then I would rather just go to the dealership. The service was nothing to write home about. I have found an independent garage I like, but it is in Fall City. The Model Garage.

On the South End in Parkland.
Pacific Import Auto-Subaru Specialists.
They are all good, never give the shaft. Always tell you upfront what is going on and what is coming down the line. Totally affordable. They are really good for all Subaru's, but do excellent work on WRX and high performance STI's (their specialty).
