Not too bad breaking trail today--just a sweat-fest. And, of course, the "curse of Rainier". We arrive at a sparse parking lot; no bc'ers in sight, just snowplay. We start breaking trail down the PV Rd and within 5 minutes here come the snowshoers! Where the h*ll do they come from? They appear out of the atmosphere as soon as a ski track is laid down. They followed us to 4 Xing and up a bit but terrified of real snow, they turned around and went home, leaving a lumpy, bumpy track for us to climb out at the end of our sojourn. :
