Just wondering on the "sidecountry" definition.
I thought the Rockies were in the Rockies, though. I guess any part of the Rockies not on the front range is west of some part of the Rockies, and thus fits
.
Last time I was driving through Silverton, that was a big open space with no lift. That "ski area" was definitely a nice act of imagination.

It's about the spin and what your point of viiew is I guess..... and how you phrase it, eh?
