What's up with ski bowl's telemetry? was created by Jimmy Row
All season long the temp at the top of skibowl has been reading way warmer than comparable spots.  Meadows base is reading 10 degrees cooler.  I realize its further east and 250' higher, but 10 degrees? And the cam in govy which is a 1000' lower is reading on average 6-8 cooler.  Anyone know what's up? And why no precip gauge at 5000' or 24 hour snow gauge? Just curious.

I've noticed that too.  It seems like there are a couple of situations where it legitimately would be warmer on top.  When an inversion sets up, cooler air would sink down to the pass level, while warmer air hovers up around the ridges.  And when there is a good east wind blowing through the pass, this could cool it down at government camp while the air stays warmer higher up.  Meadows probably gets more mixing with cooler air on the east side, as well.

But, it does seem like that sensor on top of skibowl is reading awfully high a lot of the time.  Even with the weak snow year there, the snow is deeper on the top of the ridge than at the bottom of the resort, so it would follow that it's colder up there.  I was seriously considering trying pond skimming at the bottom of multorphor a couple of weeks ago.
