Eastern British Columbia Touring Suggestions was created by dbnelson
I'm headed up to eastern British Columbia next week on a week of exploring and skiing. Interested in touring options around Nelson, Revelstoke, Rogers Pass, Kicking Horse, etc. We have the book "Summits and Icefields: Columbia Mountains" by Chic Scott, but are coming up a bit short on good quality suggestions for specific routes to try out.
Anyone have any suggestions of good routes to do, or good resources to check out to find suggestions?
Thanks!!!

You don't mention the type of tour, nor the difficulty. Here are popular trips in the national parks by terrain rating:

The Canadian Avalanche Centre's Avaluator trip planning product helps you choose terrain appropriate for conditions. On the day of a tour, run your trip through the Avaluator and make sure that your choice is appropriate. This can matter quite a lot if you're not familiar with the scale of the terrain on some of these trips.

For Glacier National Park, inquire at the Rogers Pass Visitor Centre.
For Mt. Revelstoke National Park, you might inquire at the ParksCanada Office in downtown Revelstoke.
The ParksCanada folks may be able to provide some semblance of directions and guidance. Or not.
I would avoid tours in the Revelstoke area ( Mt. MacPherson, Mt. Begbie ) unless someone is willing to show you the goods. Access looks much more straightforward than it actually is.

I've done several fantastic tours out of rossland... and there's good stuff at Kootenay pass. BC isn't that big, you oughta be able to find the good stuff.
