I've done it on metal edge XC touring skis which was great for the 1st mile after the ski lift where there is one downhill slope that looks like a pile of human "pickup sticks" with all the skinny skiers who can't manage it if condtions are tough. But after that I felt like I was driving a truck on a race track. Classic nordic skis are much nicer on 90% of the fairly flat route.
