El Knee No was created by Joedabaker
El Nino seems to strike it's unsavory sword into the heart of my skiing world.
My aging knees.
This bouncing Superball weather pattern: Snows at low temps, warms up and rains on sweet snowpack, then dives back to cold temps with a little spittle of snow, clear and cold for seemingly extended periods of time, then repeat cycle.
This equates to wind effected new snow on blue coral reef, followed by a short window of good powder, chased immediately by wet heavy powder, (OR INSERT high NW winds making plywood powder on shaded N terrain), then a dose of rain soaked slurpee, and back to frozen shapes and ice/suncrust/windslab.
Careful analysis of these conditions equate to a consistent pain in the knees.
Still they are grateful for the opportunity, but they just don't like being the 6th man and would rather be a starter.
In my recollection, something to look forward to is that El Nino seasons finish strong in the later season with ample doses of powder.

I hope you're right.
Ski conditions are so suck at the moment I've actually gone to work rather than ski... and that's bad. :'(

Here's hoping it's better in Idaho this week, but yeah... it's been rough.

No, no, noooo, I don't like this much. It was painful just reading your snowpack analysis!

That is bad

I've hoped into the sea kayak since it's more entertaining than boilerplate and death crust (35 deg and wet
). Oh well.... Spring is on the way!!

I even pressure washed the old Lavro drift boat and went plugging for steelhead. My knees couldn't take another day of icy groomers with a side of frozen potatoes. Caught a nice hatchery fish on the Snoqualmie!
