I've put a lot of thought into this over the last couple years. The best case scenario that I've come up with is that you slow-skin while she snowshoes for the first half, then she turns around and goes back to the car while you continue on. That would be the only way to get back to the car at roughly the same time.
The most practical thing that I came up with is that you would drive out together, each go your own way, then meet at the car at the end of the day. If you're looking to spend a little time together at least you would get 2~4hrs in the car depending on the destination.
Maybe go with another like minded couple?

You should probably offer to carry her golf clubs?

I agree. His last post got us all fired up about Dukes and Dynafits and then he doesn't take any of our advise and mounts with Alpine bindings. ???This has to be a troll.

Nope, not a troll and not an act, just a real live Dad living on South Tiger with a season pass to Alpental. Taught all 4 daughters how to ski and now have one left at home. Three more years and I'll be without a ski buddy. So just trying to figure out what to do when that time comes.
Check out TGR and search for me. You'll see similar questions there. It's just more pleasant here and a lot more informative.
If you're up at Alpental, look for a tall guy, red coat, black pants, mouse hat, red gear pack, blue boots, and super fat skis. Yell out, Hey SkierHiker and wave your ski poles.
