333 skis

Anybody seen these guys? 333 skis

Ran across them in the latest issue of Backcountry. With the exception of a bunch of dribble on TGR, there's not much about them. What little I did find, was mostly positive, with the exception of TGR of course. I have to admit the concept kinda appeals to me, a dirt bag skier trying to make it on his own. Plus, how can you go wrong with a custom pare of skis for 333 bucks.

Any thoughts?

I also spent some time researching the thread. The 222 skis also have an interest.

Now we need someone like Scotty to get a pair and provide the necessary research. I can only imagine the graphics on Scotty's skis.

Lou on wildsnow is supposedly doing an article on them in relationship to other customized ski options. Least it was hinted at in the custom skis article part 1.

As for how good they are...... my stance is not enough info needed.

Some questions to have asked IMO

!.) Carbon or fiberglass?
2.) Sizes avaliable (preset width wise)
3.) Rocker options
4.) flex options
5.) camber options
6.) options for random things like twin tips or flat tip
7.) options for shovel type

I mean what does 333 REALLY get you?

I placed my order for a pair of 222's on Nov 6th (now 272's) and besides an automated response, haven't heard back from Michael.   I do love his concept of sustainability, responsibility, fair price - who doesn't love affordable skis and anxiously await my test pair.

It seems as if 333 has been overwhelmed with orders in the past and Michael removed the on line order form for sometime (re-posted Nov 1) to catch up to the demand. 

I'll keep the collective abreast of my findings.

My son ordered a pair over the summer and I ordered a pair in early fall. Both 222's.

My son got 'the call' about 10 days ago (he was to be included in batch 3) and unfortunately had already bought some JJ's so cancelled his order. I have not heard about mine yet, but will also keep the boards abreast.

I've had a number of very interesting phone conversations with Lish (before he was completely overwhelmed) and like him very much. He's definitely in the weeds right now, but I think is completely undeserving of any accusations of opportunism or other nefarious practice leveled at him. He's just in the weeds.
