Let us hope that this interpretation of the weather data is the correct one.

That looks like 5" of rain above 5000 ft. Not much to like about that.

Rain above 5000'? What's happening below 5000?

Whistler reports 28" of snow in the last 24 hours, but they measure at 1650m = 5,400'. They probably had lots of rain below that and it is still happening. It would be grim to ski there today, rain at the bottom of the green or red chair, snow at the top.
Luckily it appears freezing levels will go down to 1,000 meters in a day or so, with lots more snow on the way.

Below 5,000 ft it evaporates.
Hey as of 9:30 AM Monday it is still snow at Stevens and even on I90. Hopefully the easterlies through that passes will keep things from sustaining too much damage up there.

Quite amazing how much effect the easterly flow over the passes has had so far in this Pineapple evert. Baker has been drenched with over 5.5" with temps up to 38F whereas Snoq pass has around an inch and a rain snow mix with Stevens the same but snowing.
Baker has lost upwards of 18" or which we all know is mostly compaction but there must be a lot of run off too.
Might have been different with a direct hit rather than over Vancouver Island direction.
