Best bet for Mt. Hood area low snow turns?

So I think I need to go play in the snow tomorrow.  Any thoughts on best bets for Mt. Hood area with low snow base just to get some turns? To get a fix, and hopefully not destroy my skis or worse my body.  Ie lack of rocks, deeper snow areas from wind deposits, etc.  I'm thinking maybe some of the lower angle stuff at Meadows might be more grass, less rock.  As far as I know if they're not open, they can't prevent you from touring there right?  If it clears obviously Palmer could work.  Not looking to steal anyone's favorite spots.  Just to leverage our collective wisdom.  Anyone want to meet up?  So it begins...

Stuff around Tline can be fun early in the season. They are probably cat-packing some trails, that makes for easier access (I'm out of shape). Or the Alpine trail might be a go by tomorrow.
I've had meadows lock me in the parking when they were not open. It was a pain in the butt finding the dude with the key.

My recommendation would be Mt Hood Meadows. They'll not stop you from skiing there.

Off subject but a few years ago I had an employee at skibowl try to stop me from hiking. They were not open for the season yet or doing any control work. I told him to $@#% off. At the top I ran into a patroller who was doing the same thing as me. He told me its a grey area. Any thoughts?

My understanding was always that if the ski area isn't open yet, and it's on public land, they can't stop you. It's not their property. With control work being an obvious exception for your own good.

I'd say it's a gray area. Yes, Ski Bowl and the other ski areas are on public land, but they hold the permit.

And to powski3, The ski areas on Hood typically are the best places to go in early season.
