sounds like I'll need to do some recon to really get a good picture of what's going on up there. Sleeping in a avy runnout zone isn't something I wanna roll the dice on and considering this is all about trying to get first chair the idea was to be there when its dumping.
snow cave sounds like it would be ideal. good insulation from the elements and noise.

It is not exactly roughing it, but I make use of the Mountaineers' cabin several times each year.You will still have to use earplugs and a sleeping bag, but the avi risk is lower. The food is better, showers are available, and you can still get first tracks.
