IT IS ALSO WORTH NOTING THAT THE SNOW LEVEL ON
SUNDAY WILL ONLY BE AROUND 6000 FT...AND SNOWFALL ABOVE THAT
ELEVATION COULD AMOUNT TO ONE OR TWO FEET.

Glad to see us getting a nice Labor Day storm. That will put the damper on the fires likely for the season and also, for now, put an end to the melting of our glaciers and icefields.

After this storm and maybe a couple of shortwaves through midweek it looks like it's Indian summer through at least the 22nd of the month (roughly). That's a good old fashioned pattern. Let's hope we get an old fashioned transition into fall and winter.

Saw several Rainier locales sporting new snow today. Trace at Mazama Ridge level around Paradise. At Chinook, snow line at about top Yakima Peak, again a lumpy and fading trace. At Sunrise, snowline at about Sourdough ridgeline. Everything looked real pretty, during breaks in the clouds where you could see, then clouds would blow in again and more 37 degree snow.
