I spent too short a time there, damn. Maybe next year a month would be a better length of time for such exploration. How does one get lucky enough to live there?? Especially being a U.S. citizen?

They get steeper and more committing as he gains experience.
In 2006 he posts a picture of the North Face of The Aguille du Plan saying "it's hard to believe somebody has skied it" and by 2009, he HAS skied it.
The sidebar link to the accident part of the blog is pretty sobering though.
