Done, and there were a few yellow QUESTION marks. Not sure if this helps, but after clicking on the items listed, it told me drivers for these were not installed. This list includes: Ethernet Controller, Network Controller, PCI Device, PCI Modem, SM Bus Controller, Video Controller, Video Controller (VGA Compatible). {Ski Ski Ski!}
i.e.- when I try opening Windows Media Player, it just tells me that I need to connect to the internet to retrieve updates. But I can't get connected.
OK, is it a Dell? It appears that it is based on what you said the disc looks like. If it is what you need to do is go to the Dell website and go to support. You shoul dbe able to enter the service tag number for your computer (which is on a label on your computer somewhere). It will then bring you to a site where you can download the drivers (for the ones you mention above) that were originally installed on your computer. Seeing that the ethernet controller is one of them you won't be able to access the internet from your computer and will have to do it from another computer. Once you have downloaded all of the drivers save them to a USB stick or some sort of drive and then plug that into your computer and install them all. Or you could judt download the Ethernet driver onto another computer and install that on your machine and tehn access the inter to download and install directly to your computer.
