Make a rope mat. My son Stewart made one with one of our old ropes.
See this link on how to make it.

The climbing classes can use them to cut into 6 to ten foot pieces for students to practice tying various climbing knots. If you don't know any climbing schools that will take them then we can always use them in the Mountie's glacier travel class for skiers and boarders.

Use them for fixed lines to clean the moss off your roof. ::)

I would love to have an old rope for crevasse rescue practice (since my only ropes are skinny glacier ropes I don't want to be dragging around through the woods behind my house for practice) -- would be very happy to pay shipping.

If Mary has other uses for her ropes, Jonathan, I'll happily send you one of mine. PM me your address.
