boot center -Kailas was created by bobS

I’m skiing 180 Atomic Kailas’ from a couple years ago, the grey ones. My Fritchies are mounted so that the boot’s center is dead center on the “boot center” mark on the skis.
Like Joedabaker, it feels like it is too far back. My inbounds skis (Vokle AC3) are also 180s but the boot center on the Kailas’s is a full inch back from these.

Has anyone compared boot center mark location on Kailas to skis with similar geometry such as Mt. Bakers?
Any comments/advice on shifting the boot location relative to the ski’s recommended center mark?

(In the Dynafit Vertical vs Speed thread Joedabaker said: “ Not sure if I like the FT system's performance yet, I mounted them perfectly on a pair of Kalias skis, boot center DEAD CENTER ON SKI MARK, but they ski like I'm on my heels all the time and it feels like there is an extra foot of ski in front of me.”)

When I had my Baker Super Lights mounted at ProSki (Dynafit comforts) I broached the subject of moving the mounting point around to enhance performance vs tip float.  Basically we came to the agreement that BC skis are not performance oriented (not as much as inbounds that is) and that boot center (as marked by the factory) is the best spot for the all-around aspects needed for BC skiing.  I'm positive others will have different opinions on mounting, but unless it's a twin tip ski I just go with what the factory suggests, but that's just me.

The boot center on the SL's is almost exact with G3 Saints, and my Kilowatts, but is a little further back than my Jak's (more of a twin tip).

When I switch to my Fischer 88's with Barons I do get the "in the back seat" feeling, but attribute that to the different ramp angle of the bindings (much less than dynafits) and need to install a shim to remedy this (those are twin tips and mounted almost ski center).

Hope this helps.
