Here is a photo of the crampon fully installed on an Easy Go binding (click to enlarge). The crampon goes underneath the rails. The plastic piece in front hooks just behind the toe plate. The plastic piece in back rotates to hold the crampon snug against the bottom of the rails.

OK, one more time.  The crampon fits onto the binding from the TOP not the bottom.  Place the crampon OVER the rails and attach the toe piece and then clip in the rear.  It doesn't attach from the BOTTOM - the crampon goes in-between the crampon rails and your boot.

Climberdave,
Actually, no. The method that you are proposing does not match the physical reality of this binding and crampon. Lowell has correctly diagnosed the problem, and his photo confirms that yes, the crampon goes between the ski and the binding, i.e. attaches to the BOTTOM of the binding. If I were to put the crampon on TOP of the binding as you suggest, there would be no way to attach it to the binding rails, as all the mechanisms of attachment are on the top of the crampon. If you look carefully at the first picture that I posted, you will see this.

If you have this exact model binding and crampon, then I would love to see a photo of how you were able to attach the crampons as you are suggesting. If you don't have this exact model binding and crampon, then you don't have the information that you need to diagnose this problem.

Lowell has the answer on this one.

dooooohh

Sorry about that rootsman. I have had a few pair of the Pur Freerides (same rails, crampon mounts and crampons), but it's been awhile since I've played with them. This AM I woke up and remembered something about that little spinning piece and Mr Skoog confirmed my subconscience workings.

My clearest memory of the binding is trying to figure out how to install the crampon and the Eureka moment that followed the turning of the crampon piece.

Once again my apologies for not remembering correctly. :-[
