I took my second avy 1 course with ProGuide this winter and was very impressed. Margaret, Ben, Erica, and Martin really know there stuff and the class takes place in the Alpental Valley; so you gain local knowledge and keep you $$ here too.

One thing to keep in mind, is ideally you would like to take a course that meets the American Avalanche Association suggested curriculum guidelines (check here
www.americanavalancheassociation.org/education.html
).
It is especially helpful if you are trying to decide between two courses.

I took Baugher's level 1 course at Crystal. I would give it a 3 out of 5. I didn't find the classroom session valuable.
I'm looking to take another course in the early winter...does anyone know which ones have the best field training?
