Plowed cascade lakes hwy April 25th!

I found this thread on TTips:

"I don't ever remember this happening but it's the makings of a really great ski trip!!! Anyone up for a trip to Broken Top or South Sister in the next few weeks?

Cascade Lakes Highway has been plowed by the state which never happens in the winter or even spring...they normally let it melt out and open it late spring or early summer. Truly GREAT NEWS!!!"

I'd be skeptical of them plowing all the way to Devils Lake TH by Apr 25th, especially given that elevation and the fact that late season snowfalls are likely.  If it's true, then that would make for some sweet access early in the season.  I think I'm gonna call Deschutes Co. Road Maint to get the skinny though now that I'm intrigued...........usually the road doesn't open til Memorial Day.  Typically they do plow to Elk lake though for the fishing season opener........
