A question for those using F1's:

My F1's (newer '08-'09 version), I wear through the plastic coating on the cable in about one or two uses.  At that point, there is a steel cable wearing away at a softer aluminum heel lever.  I've replaced the relatively expensive cables and had the exact same result after just a few uses.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm not a racer, but I have about 20 days on '08/'09 F1's. I have no visible wear at all on the cable plastic coating. Where the cable passes through the aluminum heel lever, there is a black, hard plastic tube with tabs that go up and hold it in place that acts like a bushing. You don't mention this - do you not have one of these?

Both of these have broken. The plastic is unusually brittle for such an application. I have contacted Scarpa NA, and Scarpa SpA and this piece is unavailable. :(

Thanks for all the info everyone, I met with Rick from SKi Trab, the only problem with looking at Rick's stuff is that everything else is heavy, his Gignoux boots, and race trab skis are absolutely ridiculous! I'll see what I can actually afford by next season.
