Be careful about parking in the designated "condo parking" section of the Hyak lot. The condo residents pay for that to be plowed for them and cars left there overnight that don't belong might get towed (they keep an eye on their lot).....
I mentioned before, the lot at the entrance to Hyak just left of the 3-way stop is pretty safe and often has overnight cars staying there. I have not heard of any break-ins there either...FYI

I give a second vote for the lot right at the entrance to Hyak Estates.

Usually a few cars are parked there overnight so your car won't be out of place.

Now getting to the mountain is really up to you. You could follow the downhill ski runs to the nordic trails out toward Nordic Pass. You could go to Grand Junction via the power line or the Hyak trails (Sliver Fir to Hyak Crossover Trail). Or you could follow the blue diamonds from Silver Fir or off Snoqualmie Drive to Hyak Lake and then on towards Nordic Pass.

BTW, if you do park in the Hyak entrance parking lot the easiest way to access the hill is to walk straight up Snoqualmie Drive from the parking, hang left and follow the road up until it takes a sharp right and you exit left there to the ski hill. The road dumps you out right at Norms house (was wiped out by the landslide) where it is only 30yards or so to the groomed nordic trails.
