Dynafit for Dummies

I got my Shuksans all marked up per wildsnow.com instructions. I got my "like new,used Scarpas with bits of new padding in the right places for my skinny feet. I got my Dynafit Comforts. Got my "1/2 price off Craigs list" ski pass to the local hill. Now it's time to put them together and ski. Problem is, I live in Upstate New York and have never skied on or looked real closely at a mounted setup and there is no one in 600 miles who I can ask dumb questions. The good news is I'm pretty handy with a drill and tape measure and have mounted a few bindings in the past. Counting on you guys to help so I don't make any bone head mistakes.

Question 1: Is the boot sole supposed to appear as if it is levitating off the ski when correctly mounted or am I missing something? See my photos

Thanks all. I believe we have a consensus. I can sleep tonight. Just finished taping the skis parallel on the bench, marking the center line of the skis and locating the pivot "pin" point on the skis. I'll recheck it in the morning cause if I don't get the dishwasher emptied and the garbage put out before my wife gets home I'm toast.
