Enchantment Lakes Loop?

I was up there the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.  We spotted a vehicle down lower on the Icicle hoping for an extended tour through the Enchantments but opted out.  There is very little snow up there and while the higher lakes should be a fine tour, the trip down would be inconsistent snow and troublesome.  The trail up to Colchuck Lake is skinable the whole way (although frozen solid).  The climb up Aasgard Pass was dangerous and somewhat difficult.  Crampons and axe are a must.  We elected to return via Colchuck Lake and climbed and skied down Aasgard.  While thrilling to me, some may not enjoy the icy perils contained in this pitch.
It could surely be a great tour but I personally would not do it right now and unfortunately I am not optimistic about the likelihood of good coverage this spring.

I hope this helps.

Wow, that isn't a lot of coverage at all.

I had planned to go up to the top of Aasgard in mid jan., but turned around at mountaineer creek due to the view and words of descending climbers stating that there was very little snow and it would be a hellish descent. It hasn't snowed since then, so... it's probably booty for a long while further, but could be a great traverse if we get some good late season glop to cement to the rocks.

I have done that exact tour in icy conditions. It was not fun, one of us (me) took a 300 ft slider on Trauma Ridge. Luckily ended up in a tree upside down but unhurt. It was an easy 2 day tour since there was no skiing that wasn't ice. We went in stayed a night and skied out Snow Lakes. I'm thinking its not a good time for this tour.

Still looks amazing even if it does look like June conditions!
