Hi all;
I just wanted to let you all know that I have started to work on a new version of the Snoqualmie Pass ski touring book. I have not decided on the format yet, but I will do my best to make it worth your trouble. I anticipate having this second rendition ready in the fall of 09.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank you for your support of the book in the past.
Stay safe.

Can you make it in a small format for easy packability, like the guides to the Columbia Mountains, and Rockies, by Chic Scott? That would be great.

A lot of that will depend on the publisher, but thanks for the input. It sure would be a great idea.

just returned from utah. one of the things i would consider is the base coverage. not sure montana has enough.. they do in utah. and you can use your boarding pass for your first day's ticket.

M,  Thanks for all your hard work on the first edition!

I have not decided on the format yet,

By this, do you mean online content vs. a published hardcopy?

Regarding the pocket versions, it's a nice idea, but here in the PNW our weather presents a unique challenge.  Things get wet and many of my tours I return drenched head to toe.  I've sacrificed a few guidebooks to the water gods already.  To remedy this, I've tried cutting the spine off books and laminating all the pages individually, and taking just the ones I need, but this is relatively expensive.  Now I make photocopies of the tour I'm doing, (and accompanying maps) so that when (not if) it gets wet, the consequences are minor.  Folded up and sealed in a ziplock, they stay safe and easy to reach in a pocket.

Looking forward to BCSkiSnoPass v. 2.0!

Adding a shorter tour, which goes up commonwealth basin, over the ridge climber's left of the kendal catwalk and down to the lakes and out gold creek valley was nice as far as a snoqualmie curcuit goes. Also, skiing off the summit of chikamin was very nice for a moderate 40+ degree ski descent via the red line marked in the below photos (cept for the summit block which was steeper).
