Weeknight rando rendezvous?

I too am interested.

To repeat, the ambient light or full moon light is impressive. I have done a lot of skiing at the pass at night. If the ski area lights are on you don't really need a headlamp. But I usually wear a headlamp just in case there are snowcats doing some grooming.

Certainly interested, Lowell. I used to be up at Hyak (2000-2004) and Silver Fir (1998-1999) every Wednesday night Jan-March for the always-fun Wednesday Night Nordic Time Trials.

I was in High School at the time and really appreciated being able to get into the hills on a school night! But after 12+ years they've done away with it! Too bad... hoping that it will be brought back in the future.

Heh -- I can tell you from experience that yes, yes it does. Still fun though! Tele gear (at least mine) is so much heavier now... I'm thinking about a super-skinny pair of light skis with 3-pins and leathers -- that would be a lot easier on the up, even if you got your butt-kicked on the down...

A friend and I are making plans to head up Wednesday, 1/14. Neither of us needs new gear, so we'll be skinning instead of doing the Marmot demo night.

We'll probably leave Seattle between 5 and 6pm. (Still figuring that out.) If you'd like to carpool or meet at the pass, send me a PM or email.

Sharpen your edges boys and girls. I skied Alpental tonight 1/13 and it is a frozen ice-rink!!!!
All the racers where out cuz they like it like that but I didn't.
Hope the Summit offers better conditions for your randonee circuit.
