Avy Shovel Questions

I have a Ortovox Grizzly in my pack. Its heavy but goes through snow pretty well and has a big blade. Unfortunately it doesn't have holes in the blade for sled construction. I got it at Marmot with one of their coupons. Another place you could check is avalanchetools.com. They have some nice package deals.

Re-reading my original post, I realized I expressed myself poorly, as usual.  I meant to say "...relies on avoidance" of slopes over about 30 degrees...   I know this is no guarantee, but it does seem to improve the odds.  Language makes a mighty loose net to go fishing with, when the sea of facts is infinite, eh?  Thanks again to all who replied!
