Thanks for 2008 turns! The members of this site inspired me to turn through all of 2008. I love the range of place and times, from summitting Baker for July turns, skiing with my brother for the first time in over 15 years in August, assembling enough patches in September for 1k', hiking up the Heliotrope ice field in October, to skiing down my home court to the mailbox for December. Here's to great turns in 2009!

Give yourself a Christmas gift and get another day of turns before New Year's!

Great idea, Mack! Found the seam after the completion of the snow man and before dinner, so went and got 1,500'.
Conditions update around Bham: 450' asl, heavy to slushy, great for making snow men. 1,000' asl: 1 foot or more of heavy soft snow, yesterday's rain in town was snow here. 1,900' asl: About a foot and a half deep, at least 6" new from yesterday, ample cover for turns, winter wonderland still.

After the airing of grievances do we get to do the feats of strength?
Have a fun and safe BC year.

Nationalistic stereotyping.I am shocked, shocked I tell you that this would be allowed to be posted! A greased Scotsman is what happens when you are skiing the final section down to the Northway lift , under the chairs, and you are cranking through moguls to show your fierce skills, and Joedebaker is on the chair immediately above you, and shouts, " getting tired Scotty", and you start laughing, cross your tips, and slither into the lift line on your ass like a"greased Scotsman".

ps. Scotsman - the latest Skiing mag (read while waiting for my flight), describes some aspect of showing off below the lift as not looking like "a greased Scotsman."
I was laughing, but can anyone tell me what a greased Scotsman looks like!!?? ???
