Sunday is looking like it will be pretty ugly -- should we chance getting stuck or play it safe and drive home Saturday?

How bad do you think Sunday will be for a Bend to Seattle drive?

Bad.  NOAA is predicting freezing rain from Portland to Tacoma with winds up to 85mph in the passes starting Saturday afternoon through Sunday night.  Oregon, Washington and the Feds are preparing to activate there Emergency Operation Centers (EOC's) on Saturday in preparation for a major event thought the PNW.

Be careful out there.

We drove through the gorge one year during an ice storm - it was GNARLY! The effects are beautiful on vegetation, whole branches totally encased in transparent ice, but put that stuff under your wheels and it is scary!

thanks for the input -- did the drive in 8 hours today (Sat.) . Conditions were already not great -- lots of spin outs and icy spots on I-5. Glad not to have risked it in the impending blizzard.
