Good idea! I recall West Seattle having some "slopes" - this would give a new definition to "green" runs...

That's what I'm wondering.  I might go to the Magnusen Park tonight and hit the kite hill, although that would mean driving.  There a cemetary right near my house that might have some slope to it, but I'd have to worry about hitting gravestones.  Anybody have ideas in the U district?

edit: Cowen Park in Ravenna might be the ticket.

Just hit that same cemetery. From the summit (55th and 34th NE region) to base area (down by the new condo with the Thai cafe) was a thrilling spill-ride. Tried to dodge the gravestones and kept wondering if I was doing something really really bad. The roads were grabby, the grass was better. Actually the sidewalk on 35th Ave NE and the little strip next to the cemetery fence wasn't bad. Home for some glidey stuff. Packed down sidewalks are the fastest.

Newcastle GC is great for X-Country skiing.  It's at about 600-700 feet elevation with rolling hills.  And it has killer views of the Seattle area, DT, Lake WA, Bellevue, etc.  Just got back from a ski and there's more than enough on the ground and the snow was perfect and fast.  It's not so good for alpine - tried that once, didn't work so well!  So Friday and even Saturday could be good, especially the views if it's clear.  Important note:  They don't allow jeans in the bar (nice one, with views of course, good selection, located in the main facility/near the pro shop).
