Memorial Foundation was created by pettigrew_kevin
I wanted to just get this out and let people see what we are doing, as well as, start discussions on ways we can expand. Dec 7 2005, my brother David passed away up at Alpental while snowboarding. Since his death, my family and his friends have created a foundation in his memory. Our ultimate goal is to save a life and or avoid the tragedy he faced. Please check out our website and see what we are doing. Any ideas of how we can expand our efforts is appreciated. I really believe we can make a difference.

This year we sent 6 people to the ISSW conference, donated 26 beacons and packs to snoqualmie and mission ridge, and are working on a safety training class for people of all ages and abilities. There is so much more we can do and look forward to expanding our reach.....
Please contact me here...
Also thought I would add, Alpental announced they will be naming their new ski patrol hut at the top of chair 1 after my brother. We hope to provide much more safety information up there in the future (lots of ideas and plans in the works)...You can see more about this on their site.

I spoke with some Alpental ski patrollers a few weeks ago, and I have to say they are very appreciative of the beacons. Just in case nobody else told you, they're going to be put to good use.
