even better ... he has a 2-yr fellowship, meaning he probably won't get stuck there and will come back here, at least for a while; my two stints in D.C. were interesting professionally but sucked from an outdoors perspective.

High Five, Gator,
You deserve a major growth spurt.
You've worked hard for us all and I certainly appreciate your efforts over the last 18 years.
I was up at Sherman the night that Rangers Phil Otis and Sean Ryan died.
I know that you vowed then, that such an incident would not happen again if you could help it. And you certainly did.
Since then you have turned the climbing ranger program into what may be one of the best in the world, and made Rainier a better and safer place for us all to climb and ski.
My hat's off to you, brother.

Gary, Ron...
As the snow really begins to dump, it's hard not to question the logic of moving from such a beautiful place w/ so many wonderful people (climbers and skiers!) to the city life of DC... That said, I'm really excited for all that I'll learn.
So my primary question is this, does any know of any credible dirt bag climbers in DC? I'm hoping not to loose my climbing street credibility while back east...

Don't worry Mike! There's nothing left to lose, city slicker.

Mike, best of luck out there. Perhaps you can do some buildering?
I'm sure you'll be back...eventually.
