Lots of good advice here and to answer your question yes you can learn to tele on your hill and because of your alpine experience your learning curve will be fast and tele bindings work fine on an alpine ski and my real tip is when you are learning to tele jump into the ungroomed soft snow as much as possible to begin learning how to ski in the real stuff as they are two different animals the groomed and the powder and both require learning tilme. good luck
