Very special thanks to all participants, volunteers, sponsor's, and speaker's that made NSAS 2008 such a great success.  Over 250 of you spent the day, inside, on hard chairs, in the pursuit of some avy edumacation, and I hope it was worth your while.  Feedback has been positive, and there seems to be a genuine interest in continuing the event.  Special thanks goes out to the Friends of the Avalanche Center (FOAC) for their generous financial support, as well as providing the huge pool of volunteers for the event.
Have a great winter, and we will see you again, next fall, for NSAS 2009!

Cheers,

Alpine Safety Awareness Program (ASAP)

My wife and I thought this was a day well spent. Thanks to all for putting this together. In particular we would like to thank Sam for sharing his powerful story. We are grateful he is open about his experience.

I was a great turnout! Many thanks to Michael Jackson and Steve Christie for their hard work and the others who volunteered and those who spoke.

I must agree that Sam's story was incredible; a grand finale to the grand event. Let's hope for another packed house next year.

Once again, thanks for putting together the NWAS. I am sure there are several folks that helped you and many thanks goes to them as well.

However, now the secret is out how Garth and the boys at the Northwest Snow and Avalanche Center comes up with their avy forecast...see attached photo!!!
