Yes, good plan to get in the car!  I wholeheartedly agree.

Meanwhile, flat tire, change it.  Way to go.  Keep on truckin'. Toll booth, understandable, someone's got to pay to use the roads.  Oops, rear-ended at the tollbooth. No worries.  Your back and broken leg will recover (you drove a crappy car to begin with and it didn't exactly protect you).  On the road again.  Flat tire. Flat tire. Flat tire.  Keep changing the tires . . . oops, ran out of gas going for new tires, start walking/limping, try to wave someone down for help but they're not into carpooling with someone like you who happens to be a little disheveled from rolling around on the ground changing tires and limping from a bumm leg.  You've reached the gas station.  Attendant says he's sorry cause you don't have the assets to take out the loan needed to finance the cost of gas these days (crappy car is a lot worse off after the rear-ending) . . . gas is a frivolous expense, no worries, you'll start riding a bike--do they sell bike trailers, because I forgot to mention the kids in the backseat . . . shame on you for having a family, it certainly destroyed your skiing potential. Perseverance pays off though, I'm sure of it--too bad they decided no more skinning you gotta buy a lift ticket to ski, its the rules these days 'cause someone else owns that land.

The unfortunate fact of the matter is, nothing is very cut and dry clear, but if we all keep trying and working to help ourselves, help each other and make a difference, we just might all get a chance to ski.  Now its up to you to learn how to ski and utilize that patch to its fullest potential--Judging from their latest TR, I think Ron J, Jeanette and crew might have some pointers there.

Thanks, but I was just playing devils advocate. I didn't think anybody would actually agree with that. The theory is full of holes once you factor in cornice build up, avalanche hazzards, and slow moving glaciers etc. Snow economics are complicated. Hopefully somebody will go out and make a few ski cuts real soon in the CEO chutes.

Thanks for inspiring the analogy and analysis alecapone.    I don't normally jump into these things, but as of late, I'm stuck here on a couch 'cause of a bum ankle, moaning 'cuz I, personally, can't get any snow and during the meantime stuck writing a paper analyzing tax policy . . . all I can come up with is a snow analogy based off of a ski forum on the internet!  : Maybe I could just turn this thread in for credit . . .

Teleskichica - you're a poet. I bet Jack Johnson could put your words to music in five minutes, and we'd have our skiing anthem to sing along all the way up to the snow country. In fact, you should probably copyright your whole post.

No one is going to redistribute the snow for the sake of metaphorical analogy! If anything the snow will fall where it used to fall before multinationals decided to play God and toy with atmospheric science yielding total collapse of our weather systems! It happened in the 1890's, the 1930's, and it's happening now!
