G3 skis delam! was created by Dustin_B
I bought a pair of G3 Rapid Transits in Jan (2008). About late July (I'm doing a season in new zealand now - just finished - so was skiing them regularily since I bought them) I noticed both skis were delaminating on the outside edge of the ski (they are asymmetrical skis so I always have the right one on the right foot, etc) right at the center of the binding. Same place on both skis, right where the colored topsheet meets the white sidewall. I can see the fibers of the wood through the slits! Anyone else had an issue with their new G3s delaming? Only 6 months after I bought them too. They were on about their 100th day of skiing, but still I think this has got to be a manufacturing defect and should be covered under warranty. No major side impacts or anything to suggest I could possible cause this. Couldn't really do much about it down here, but I plan to take up the issue when I'm back in the States shortly. Just curious if this is a fluke, or is others have had similar issues. Thanks. Dustin.

I have heard rumors of that from the distant past, first season or two of the G3 ski line.
I would be very cautious about airing grievances online prior to talking with any manufacturer.
I have broken a number of G3 items over the years, they have always provided awesome customer service, truly above and beyond. I keep going back to G3 for that reason, plus I think their products are generally pretty good.

Had a pair of G3 reverends that I skied for nearly 3 seasons hard. Passed them onto Stewie.
My advice, contact G3 and same as jdclimber, don't say to much online unitl you had spoken to G3 service department. I had an issue with G3 skins they took care off promptly and to my satisfaction.

More of the same. Dustin, you're probably expecting typical run-around type customer service, but this has not been my experience w/G3. Give'em a call. I don't even know of another sporting goods company that lets customers contact headquarters directly.

I ski about half the time on a pair of Reverends that I bought from Marmot's used rentals section. They're holding up fine so far, but I'm not real aggressive on them. Yet...

This was a known issue in the early Ticket models, at least. Mine delammed (delambed?) at the tail. Got in touch with G3 in Vancouver and had a new pair shipped out shortly after showing them the pictures of the delam. PM me if you want contact info, I think I still have it.
