Closest turns from Seattle? was created by wafflehound
Hey folks, I am wanting to get out tomorrow and get a couple of turns in but have something that I need to be back in Seattle at 5pm.
By now my options are down to either Baker or Rainier..anyone got any suggestions of which would be fastest to get to snow and back in time? My gut tells me to run up to the Pebble Patch.
Not looking for any personal stashes..just to have some fun.
Thanks!

it's still a drive, but behind Table Mtn near Coleman Pinnacle, there are some lovely runs. It's about 3 miles out, but flat and very fast. Good luck!

If you aren't too picky about how many consecutive turns you can make in a run, Silver Peak holds promise for maintaining a TAY streak. As Chris, Skip, Jeff and I discovered, night skiing runs through September in the Hyak vicinity.
We are still awaiting a posting or pics from Skip, but here is Chris' documentation.

My Horizon flight to Spokane went right over Silver Peak Wednesday evening. I couldn't see any turns from my elevation, but the north bowl did actually have some remaining snow... I recall chuckling and thinking how desperate you'd have to be to ski that
Nice job!
Back to the thread: Either would work. Me, I seem to prefer Baker, though getting back by 5pm will cramp the day wherever you go. Good luck!

That's about accurate.
What it was lacking in vertical feet, it more than made up for in time commitment, though. RT timeframe was roughly 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM.

Awesome, thanks everyone!
I do fall into the "desperate" category to keep my streak, so I'll be giving Silver a crack tomorrow AM.
