Hut trips this winter was created by brownc9
I'm looking to plan a hut/yurt trip with my dad this winter and would like some recommendations, Me: 25, been skiing since diapers, ski pretty aggressively inbounds and cautiously but strong out of bounds. My dad: 52 and been skiing forever too. Both Level 1 trained and have beacons etc and know how to use them. We would like a location that doesn't take a ridiculous amount of time to get to from seattle, maybe one day of travel to the hut, has good consistent snowpack, and not the 700 dollar sticker of a guided trip.
Any suggestions?
I've looked at Ymir, Zap didn't recommend it, i've heard other say the opposite. it's an 8 person kind of deal, and we might be able to get four total, but not 8 people.
Thanks

I don't have any route suggestions, but I'm sure you could find four people here willing to share with you.

Maybe March would be the most consistent time to go, lots of snow and a better chance for some sun...(optimistic), and a more stable snow pack. But could go february over presidents day. The Mountaineers usually do a little trip to canada for a few days of b/c skiing, could do that, but kind of want to be on my own schedule. ideas?

Elfin Lakes Hut, above Squamish, BC. 8 easy miles in, 1st come/served, great terrain options.

And hopefully your car will not be vandalized, robbed or burnt to a shell when you return.
